Confirmed as one of the UK's finest beach resorts, Dawlish Warren is a haven for families. Distinctive sand dunes and an internationally recognised nature reserve add uniqueness to this European Blue Flag award winning beach, which entices families to enjoy either a time-honoured seaside holiday or an idyllic day out beside the sea.
Activities and events
If it's peace and quiet you want, just walk along the beach and suddenly, you're on your own. A little piece of Devon all to yourself, perfect. If it's all the fun of the fair, razzmatazz, Punch and Judy, fish and chips, amusement arcades, entertainers and fireworks, we've got that too.
There are many events organised throughout the year both at the Warren and in neighbouring Dawlish. These include:
- Local produce markets - 1st Friday each month at the Piazza, Dawlish
- Car club gatherings
- Regular Steam Train passes - great venue for pics!
- Dawlish Horse Show
- Free family entertainment in the high season
- Dawlish Carnival week in August
- Dawlish Air Show during Carnival week

Dawlish is a short walk along the sea wall (about 20 minutes) if the tide is low or you can jump on the No.2 bus / take the train. There are some lovely walks locally so take a look at the leaflets on the right.
