Web cam technical information:

The camera has Pan/Tilt and Zoom (PTZ) facility, this has been disabled for general use, although the administrators can access the camera remotely to change the view as required when the situation demands it. Special occasions, firework displays etc this should happen. It is also anticipated that at certain special events we may try and stream live video from this camera to the net. Please watch this space for more details.

Now, the techy bit if you are interested.

The camera is a Sony 480 TVL 1/4" Super HAD CCD, 0.05 lux, 4.2 to 42.0mm (5° to 50° viewing angle) lens, 25 fps, MPEG4 or MJPEG compression, 704x576 pixel maximum resolution with a 10/100MB LAN socket. We do not need a separate PC attached to the camera as it has its own built in web server to FTP the images to our web site (PZ6122).

Housing: External housing with a heater to allow all year round use, this will allow this also to be a weather cam if you wish.

Internet connectivity: This is via a Broadband connection, we are using a Vigor Router so that a VPN can be established to the camera for remote access. The image refresh is set to 15 seconds from the camera, with a browser refresh of 12 seconds.
